The initiative aims to equip alumni with world-class project management skills, enhancing their employability and career growth.

Following its 7-step methodology, Generation Kenya follows its alumni after graduation, providing opportunities for placement, career advancement, mentorship, and upskilling. We recognize the importance of lifelong learning, which is why we increase our partnerships with like-minded organizations such as the Centre for Project Innovation.

The Relevance of Project Management Today and the Importance of Upskilling

In a time characterized by technological advancements and shifting work environments, project management has become an essential skill across industries. Organizations are increasingly recognizing the need for structured approaches to planning, executing, and closing projects efficiently. In fact, according to a PMI report, about 25 million new project professionals are needed by 2030 with 2.3 million needed to close the gap every year. This spotlights the growing demand for these professionals across sectors globally, hence the importance of upskilling towards it.

Following this, the Centre for Project Innovation stands as a global leader in project management education and certification. They train and certify professionals in the field of Project Management with the mission of adding $100 million in social and economic value to the global workforce over the next ten years. This makes them one of the most coveted learning platforms by aspiring project managers.

Program Structure and Delivery

The scholarship program is delivered through the OPEN platform, an online learning platform and consists of three core modules designed to provide comprehensive project management knowledge and practical skills.

  • Module 1: Project Initiation – This covers fundamental concepts, including project frameworks, stakeholder identification, project selection, and communication strategies.
  • Module 2: Project Planning – Focuses on requirement analysis, procurement strategies, risk management, and agile project management methodologies.
